  • Red Bomb is the latest in very intense Colombian microlots we've featured here at Roadmap. The name may invite some silly puns but this coffee is serious business. Renancer let the cherries ferment in open tanks for 120 hours before depulping and fermenting for another 50 hours. The coffee is then Washed and dried for one to two weeks. The extended process allows the sweetness from the cherry into the bean. The coffee has the intensity of a Natural - but it is actually Washed.

Proyecto Renancer means "to be re-born" which seems apt. Renancer aims to build strong bonds within a community with a history of violence and conflict. Initially the product of one producer, the micro-processing facility on the outskirts of Medellin now works with 15 producer families. Teaching the art and science of new methods, Renancer is engaging a new generation in coffee production.
