Kenyan coffee can often be polarizing - savory tones that some find intoxicating and others find nauseating are common. But we think this one from Gichathaini washing station is intoxicating! Intense and complex, we're tasting a candy-like citric sweetness, similar to gummy worms; offset by baked apple and a deeper toned finish.

The Gichathaini factory is one of three washing stations comprising the Gikanda Farmers Cooperative Society. The factory is owned by the members themselves. This is a very well regarded station - we've carried their coffee in the past - so it comes as no surprise that the area is ideal for growing coffee. Fertile soil, fresh water from the Ragati River, and abundant rainfall add up to excellent conditions.
