We LOVE this coffee. The delicate tea-like florals and amazing pillow-like body - more reminiscent of an African origin - absolutely blow us away. Initially cupping this blind, a couple of us assumed it was an Ethiopian! The subtle citrus and sweet florals work together haroniously. It is soft. It is sweet. It is elegant. It is a must-try.
The coffee hails from Gilmer Mejia's beautiful Finca Ecológica Agua Colorada, a farm his father, Filadelpo Cordova Mejia, acquired in 1990. It is a 7-hectare plot, on which 4 hectares grow Caturra and other common varieties. The ripe cherry is shade grown and hand-picked. He uses compost and guano to fertilize his farm, and uses no herbicides. Gilmer is a young and innovative producer who is committed to and passionate about quality in every way, from the management of his farm to the final taste in the cup.
