  • We get a lot of questions about the famous peaberry. What is it? Well normally coffee beans grow two at a time inside the cherry. Not so with the peaberry! These guys are lone children. As a result, they are often smaller and denser than more typical coffee beans. Do they taste better? You tell us.

These peaberries come from the Kolange Farm in the Mbeya region of Tanzania. Kolange's 100 hectares feature nearly 100,000 trees planted among the coffee. All coffee at Kolange is processed using the washed process before drying on raised beds for 8-14 days to complete the drying process. The farm is not far from the massive Mbozi Meteorite that fell to earth more than 1,000 years ago.
