This one is balanced but flavor-packed. There is fruit- especially cranberry and a subtle raspberry, florals, and sweet deep tones like golden raisin, cashew, and brown sugar. While we're often seduced by micromills churning out berrybombs (and we do love those!), La Galera is deeper-toned, elegant and nuanced.
This microlot comes from the Cerro San Luis which sits in the West Valley of Costa Rica. The micromill is a family business run by two siblings, Alexander and Magali Delgado and their spouses, who own and operate nearby farms. We are also proud to say Roadmap has visited Cerro San Luis. It is an incredible, top-flight operation.
This is a Yellow Honey process coffee - common at Cerro San Luis. Depulping leaves a slight layer of sticky mucilage - about 25-50% - which is then dried in the sun on raised beds. This is splitting the difference between a washed and dry process, often resulting in a sweet, balanced cup.
