  • The mild, earthy profile found in many Peruvian coffees make it a typical blend component. And that usually goes double for community lots. But this, this, Peruvian community lot is an outstanding coffee in its own right.

We don't carry a ton of Peruvian coffees so when you see one, you know it's a winner. We're tasting brown sugar throughout, with a big, juicy body and green apple finish. Sweet pecan and grape are also prominent. But we'd love to know what you taste!

This lot comes from the Cajamarca region. Cajamarca is a semi-dry, semi-cold, tropical highland of Peru with very fertile soil at high Andean mountain elevations. All of these factors contribute to the potential of specialty coffee production in the area, which is growing. Per Cafe Imports, smallholder producers farm on 2-3 hectares of land, many of which practice organic farming. Most farmers in the area work independently, but the recent increase in cooperatives has been effective in increasing the quality of coffees produced in the area.
