The Tasting Room

Next door to the main bar, the Tasting Room features all the same drip coffee, iced coffee, iced tea, and refreshers you see in the main bar PLUS pourover coffee and coffee tasting flights. Never had a coffee tasting flight? Grab a friend, a date, or a coworker and come on down. We feature four coffees side by side, showcasing different origins, brewing methods, processing methods, roast levels and more. We'll find the coffee YOU most enjoy. And if you need to stock up for home, we've got you covered. 

What happens in the Tasting Room

  • Tasting flights — four coffees brewed side by side, so you can taste the difference rather than read about it.
  • Pourovers — a single cup of whatever is on the bar this week. 
  • Bagels — toasted to order, with spreads from local makers.
  • Whole bean coffee — every coffee we roast, plus brewing gear.

Our coffee

We roast all our coffee at our Lexington, Va roastery, Roadmap CoffeeWorks. Blends, single origins, darks, and decafs. You name it, we do it. Roadmap and Hyperion are the same small company operating under different names.

About Hyperion

The iconic Hyperion Espresso has been a fixture on the corner of William and Princess Anne for more than thirty years. In July 2026 we renovated, expanded our offerings, opened the tasting room next door, but retained the magic.
